How do I save a gif to my harddrive?

If you're on a PC:
To download gifs/pictures using Explorer, right-click on the image, then click on "save picture as".
To download gifs/pictures using Netscape, right-click on the image, then click on "save image as".

If you're on a Mac:
Click and hold your mouse over the image/gif.

For WebTV-users:
Please follow this link and this link to learn how to transload your images.

Remember where you saved it (i.e "what the name of the folder on your computer is, where you saved the gif) so that you easily can find it. Best thing is to have a folder named "animations" on your computer.

I run a school/church/nonprofit website. Can I use your images?

Well, you need to me first. The general rule is, if you make money from your website or from working on your website, I should (in all fairness) get paid for my work.

I like one of your gifs but it's on a white background. Can I make it transparent?

Absolutely not! Altering a copyrighted animation without the written permission from the copyrightholder is illegal. If you need a custom-made animation, please !

I want to include one of your gifs in a signature. Can I do that?

Well, if you mean adding a gif to a mail alongside your signature, then sure :)
However, some people write their names in my animations or add my images to their signature files. To be able to do that you need to alter one of my original animations and that is in violation of my "Terms of Use ". Apart from it showing disrespect for my work, it is also illegal!

Can we exchange links?

Well, I don't really keep a link-page on MillanNet, so I can't guarantee anything. However, now and then I find something I like on the web and it ends up as a link on MillanNet.

Can we advertise on MillanNet?

Sure. As long as you represent something that is in line with the general theme of MillanNet.
for a discussion.

A simple way to get your ads on MillanNet is to go through Google AdWords - something I recommend warmly.

I want to add one of your animations to a posting in a forum. How do I go about it?

Download the animation to your own harddrive. Then follow the specific instructions for your forum.
Do not direct-link the animation from MillanNet! (www.millan.net should not be included in the code you use to add the image to your posting!) Direct-linked images from forums is putting a lot of strain on my server and is costing me money.
Be aware that I can see your posting in my log-files. If an image is direct-linked I sometimes change it to something else which means you have no idea what image you will end up with in your posting. So be careful :)
Also, feel free to add a link to www.millan.net. I always appreciate links :)
